Wildfires are changing. Firefighting resources must evolve along with them. In recent days, several major wildfires have mobilized significant emergency response resources across the country. In Fontainebleau, nearly 400 firefighters, two Canadair aircraft, and one Dash aircraft were deployed to fight a fire that had already spread across nearly 800 hectares. At the same time, other major fires broke out in Maine-et-Loire, Lot-et-Garonne, and Drôme.
A risk that extends across the entire country
As of July 10, France had already recorded more than 8,000 wildfires and 25,000 hectares burned—twice the number recorded during the same period last year. These figures illustrate a reality that is now well established: the risk of large-scale wildfires is no longer limited to the Mediterranean region. It now extends to forested areas, agricultural lands, and urban-forest interfaces throughout the country.
Self-contained, modular fire suppression units
In light of these developments, rapid response and the immediate availability of water have become critical issues. With this in mind, Kamp Alliance developed water storage and distribution containers in 2024, designed to be pre-positioned as close as possible to high-risk areas. Modular, rapidly deployable, and self-contained, these units help strengthen the operational capabilities of emergency services and infrastructure managers facing an increasing risk of fire.
Enhanced operational capabilities
These containers feature a storage capacity of up to 150 m³, a pressurization system capable of supplying water to SDIS emergency responders or serving directly as a firefighting station, and a built-in generator for complete energy self-sufficiency. Our solutions are available through the UGAP “Lot Eau Incendie” contract, which Kamp Alliance has been awarded, to facilitate their deployment by public entities.
